36 Textures For EXP1

These are the 36 textures with corresponding words for EXP 1. Due to certain unknown reasons these textures have disappeared from my blog. Here are those textures again.

EXP2: 36 Custom Textures

These textures are the final attempt to investigate the light and shadow. I have tried to manipulate each of these textures so that each horizontal row is an individual series, but at the same time all the textures as a whole can be regarded as one set, from the lightest top left hand corner to the darkest bottom right hand corner.

Electroliquid Aggregation

"Addressing the issues of climate change and poverty is not a competition to determinw who is the strongest or the most intelligent ones; it all comes down to one's passion about changing the world so it is a better place by adapting to think and experiment outside the square."

Ingredients and Result of the Intersecting

1.

2.

3.

The results of the 3 sets of combinations above have been slightly changed.

3 Parallel Projection Drawings

The original axonometric drawings maybe slightly different to these drawings. The changes are done on purpose with full awareness. Minor number of prisms are been reduced to slightly reduce the overall complexity of the shapes, but also when intersecting the axonometric drawings the way which they intersect has been carfully considered, in many situations the axonometrics has to be rotated to allow for potential of the space in between to be deveoped further.

2 Images Captured From Crysis Wars Environment

These images are captured and based on the first 18 axonometric drawings in the first week of EXP 2.

Animations on Media Fire

Due to the problems occured during the process of uploading to Youtube and consultation with tutor Vinh, I have uploaded the three animations on to Media Fire. The following are the links:

Animation 1

I made 3 animations for the final submission of the Datum, however, the files are broken for some reason during the uploading process, and after several attempts the problem cannot be fix, even though the files saved on my computer are fine. The same problem occurs when I tried to upload the animations straight to my blog rather than to Youtube, but the same thing happens.

Animations

These animations are an attempt to show the stairs as well as the roof structure which is the dominant feature in this model. They try to capture the feelings and impressions make on people when observing along the route of the animation.

The Modification of Roof

This is a shot of the roof structure when viewing from inside. This modification of opening up the roof to sunlight improves the lighting effect as well as the visual effect.

Final Model Showing Stairs

These show the staircase that connect the exhibition space to below ground level. It gives sufficient space for the movement of the client's work to the ground level for displaying, but also the choice of materials, the simplicity of the design does not conflict with the surrounding working environment, reinforcing the theme of "peace".

This staircase lead from the ground level to the level above. Goodwin's artworks are generally big in dimensions, therefore there must be enough space for the extra movements. This round staircase in my opinion provides just the right solution. Furthermore, it is also a symbolism of the reconciliation with Piccinini as round objects usually convey the meaning of harmony and unite.

Final Model

The aerial shot of the roof structure, which the transparent glass directs the sunlight into the building.

The addition of the timber material shielding the concrete walls is an attempt to be more environmentally friendly. This the conceptual thinking of the modern design which links to the theme of "modernise" to Goodwin's working space.

This shot shows the podium which the exhibition space sits on. This is inspired from the Sydney Opera House design for.

This shows the section of the level below ground. It has two layers in total, allows the client to walk awat from the centre to find "peace".

Developed Model 2

The curved shapes of the roof are the main development from the draft model. This is the inspiration from waves of the open sea.

Developed 3D Model

This is the overall view of the entire model with both the above and below ground levels. Concrete are used for most of the parts, for example, most of the walls that support the structure are made in concrete as it is superior in handling with compressive forces; while other parts of the wall where the function is less important are made in transparent glass to improve its visual effects.

Second SketchUp Model With Stairs 2

In this staircase the two main materials are concrete for interior and tiles for exterior.

Second SketchUp Model With Stairs

The materials used in this staircase are wood, glass, aluminium and marble.
